Of all nature’s gifts to the human race, what is sweeter to a man than his children?
E and I hopped in the car today for a short drive to Jerry’s Berries in Copetown and spent a couple of hours
picking eating raspberries in the gorgeous morning sun. It wasn’t too hot and there was a nice breeze. We varied in our picking style, little man being a one berry to the pint container and repeat kind of fellow, while I was a handful picked to the container girl. For the most part, we were alone in the patch, which was also peaceful and nice. Just as we were leaving, a few more pint-sized pickers and their families showed up.
After a lovely chat with Glenda who owns the farm and welcomed us so kindly, we were on our way. E was famished by that point, so we hit Easterbrooks for a fry and gravy. Nice day so far, now I just have to put in a couple of hours of work and figure out which jam recipe these lovely berries will go into.
