What a day! I had the privilege and honour of having a front row seat in Kathy and Hassan’s very special day. It was doubly special, as we share an anniversary date! The day started with seeing Kathy and her family in the last few moments of preparing for the wedding…

I loved spending an afternoon with this beauty, her mom and her auntie. At six days old, she was so blissfully happy and sleepy! Even when she roused, we had a bit of a chat, a pat on the back and she would fall right back asleep in the nice cosy room. Here are a few shots from the afternoon:
Although mom Danielle said she was up a lot with this little lady who was confusing her days and nights, she looked radiant!
And then Ms. R and I had a bit of a heart-to-heart. I swear she could see right into my soul. Don’t you agree?

It’s no big secret that I love photographing people. Through my lens, I get to witness the love between partners and between parents and their kids. Today, I spent the morning with Heather and Russ, whom I first met at the Because Kids Grow Sale back in October. They won a complimentary photo session at the sale, and today we shared a couple of hours photographing their little girl and their family. It was touching to be part of their life ~ their love for each other shines through each picture. Here are some sneak peeks from the session:
A huge thank you goes out to Heather and Russ’ family pets for lending me their squeaky toys after my lab sneaked away with my noisemaking assistant!

I spent the most fabulous warm fall afternoon with four lovely ladies today. The weather co-operated and our time together slipped by so quickly ~ between enjoying the backdrop of a carpet of leaves, to belly laughs and, of course, some dancing! Thank you for the fun time and for the loan of the ladder. Here are a few shots:
There is something about photographing sisters that is awesome. Sisters that can laugh and have so much fun with each other inspire me and help me to treasure the relationship with my own sister.

This weekend, we spent a very chilly Saturday at Paletta Mansion and Park. I met this lovely family through Flickr, after fellow photographer and mom Robyn sent me a nice e-mail. We set up a photography session swap at the same place over the weekend. I took pictures of Robyn’s family on Saturday and we returned with my gang on Sunday for our turn. I appreciated having a chance to be both behind the camera with this family and in front of the camera with Robyn. I’m sure I’m not the only photographer who has about a gazillion photos of the kids and everyone else but me!
Let me tell you – I bow to those who make photographing toddlers look easy. The boys were both adorable and spirited. It did not help that the temperature hovered around the “see your breath” mark. I wanted to capture their playfulness and the family together at the same time. Here are some shots from the session:

This little girl is amazing. She lit right up and her beauty shone through. I met her parents at the Because Kids Grow Sale a couple of weeks ago and came back to photograph her a few days ago.
I just wish it was a bit warmer, so we could have stayed outside longer!

It only takes a couple of days in a spot where the only thing you have to worry about is where you would like to hike next, to make you realize how rushed our days are.
We have met some awesome “island” souls during our little getaway and are coming back refreshed.
We have plans to come back to Pelee and next time stay a bit longer!
