“Thus passes the glory of the world.”
(little disclaimer – in the past I’ve kept my personal and family photography separate from this holdlifestill site, on flickr and on my 365 project site. I’ve decided that it doesn’t make sense to keep them separate. My family and personal photographs will have a place here on the blog. So, I hope that you enjoy :))
It’s starting to thaw out around here and with the warmer weather, I’m feeling the itch to explore. This weekend, I took off in two completely different directions. Day one meant concession roads and the back country toward Cambridge and Guelph. Alone, with my tunes, GPS and the cam. I may have sung
slightly very off key for a very long time as I kept the window down and bombed along. This school bus, which could have fit in a TWD episode nicely was a lovely find. I’ve marked down its location for a return in the spring. Then, on the way back, a quick stop at the Freelton Antique Market, where I held back and at Chaos Tables, where I also held back. I’ve always loved driving past this little RC Church in Freelton and took a moment to stop. Would love to see the inside someday – the stained glass looks beautiful from my outside peek. The barn is a beautiful hot mess. I can’t wait to go back as there are other buildings that need to be explored as well.
Today was a bit different, as little Man and Sis came along. We followed Hwy 6 to Caledonia and then to Port Dover. Have never been to Port Dover yet and boy, were there some gems along the way. Loved the ‘sic transit’ building, though could not make out what it had been. Locked up, and full of construction materials according to our scout. Maybe a funeral home? There was a cemetery next door. Wouldn’t it be a fitting quote for such a place?
Have an awesome March Break!
