It’s difficult to think anything but pleasant thoughts while eating a homegrown tomato.

So, these guys survived against all odds. When I couldn’t move around in the spring, B planted the tomatoes for me, but I really did not do anything to them – I mean NOTHING! They turned into a tomato jungle that was not tamed in any way whatsoever. I didn’t stake them, I didn’t prune the wild branches, nada. The yellow tomatoes gave such a bumper crop that I am beyond happy with them. Thanks, Christine, for awesome seedlings. I harvested a large bucket of the ready to go ones and we barely put a dent in them today. The basil came from the garden as well and the flavour was intense and lovely. Next to cilantro and dill, fresh basil is probably my favourite. So, a simple dinner of grilled pork chops, this sunny salad and corn and we were full of happy. I love when a lot of your dinner comes from your side yard.
